August 20, 2008 on 12:42 pm | by Iulian Comanescu | In Print media |Dinu Patriciu, a Romanian oil mogul, took over Blik, the tabloid launched in Ukraine in 2006 by Ringier AG, according to Kommersant. Patriciu became the richest Romanian after the sale of 75% of Rompetrol to KazMunaiGaz (Kazahstan) for 2,7 billion US dollars.
Various rumors about Ringier’s lack of success in Ukraine have spread after Blik’s launching by Ringier.
Starting with 2005, the oil mogul became involved into the Romanian media market with two daily newspaper titles, Click! (tabloid) and Adevărul (quality), and the local edition of Foreign Policy and an influential culture weekly, Dilema.
Click! was launched during the spring of 2007 and it became a top 3 title on the market. The team came from Libertatea, the tabloid that Ringier owns in Romania. Razvan Corneţeanu, Patriciu’s general manager at Adevărul Holding, had took part in Blik’s launching as a manager for Ringier Romania in 2006.

Right - thanks for the correction. In addition, they were US dollars, and not euros. I’ve also changed the illustration with the Blik in Ukraine.
