Local association aiming to become an IAB Europe affiliate

The Association aims to affiliate itself to IAB Europe and to solve problems such as overlayers proliferation on Romanian sites. The first assembly resulted in establishing the management structure of the Association.
- President: Ovidiu Florea (Media Investments)
- Vice-president: Ciprian Stavar
- Eight Directory Council members: Ana Maria Bogdan (Altex), Oana Petroff (Mindshare), Cristi Parvan (Zenith Media), Ciprian Stavar, Val Voicu (AdEvolution), Mihai Seceleanu (Internet Corp), Orlando Nicoara (MPI), Doru Panaitescu (Arbomedia).

2007 will be an interesting year for the Romanian internet.
We will also, hopefully, have a quantitative audit of all major Romanian websites from BRAT online, the online division of the Romanian Bureau of Circulation Audit, officially due in the late spring of 2007.
Oh, and one more thing: it will not stop overlayers from spreading, after all, rich media will grow in 2007, but it will create, adapt and maintain standards, which will keep banner and campaign aggresivity at a minimum.
It won’t be easy, and in the first phase this may benefit non-IAB members which allow advertisers libertine possibilities…
